Kanuhura is a coral island hideaway in a remote atoll of the Maldives in the Indian Ocean. A seaplane brings you to the resorts silver sand, smiling service and the most up-to-date facilities.

With its two beautiful little island neighbours, Kanuhura is a very private hideaway with a wide range of ways to relax - bars, restaurants, activities and sports. Close by are some of the worlds best diving sites, with the outer reef dropping down nearly 2,000 metres. It has a wellness centre with a spa, an aerobics studio and gymnasium.

Accommodation is in villas either on the island's coral sand fringe or in a little village on stilts at the end of a wooden pier. In-villa dining is a speciality, providing romantic dinners and special celebrations in the privacy of your villa, or various locations on the island.

Transfer is approx 35 minutes by Seaplane.

Each villa has its own private outdoor area with mesmerising views to the ocean. Extensive use of hand-crafted wood, raffia, bamboo and other natural materials creates an elegant rustic interior befitting the naturally beautiful island surroundings.

Beach Villas:
The Beach Villas are dotted on the islands coral sand fringe. Private space extends onto the beach and out to the lagoon. Can accommodate 2 adults and 1 child or 3 adults.

Beach Villa Duplexes:
The Beach Villa Duplexes comprise of two interconnecting villas, and are perfect for families and larger parties. Can accommodate up to 4 adults and 1 child or 2 adults and 3 children.

Grand Beach Villas:
The largest villas are the Grand Beach Villas.With two bedrooms, two large bathrooms with Jacuzzi bath, living room, kitchenette, dining table, veranda and a wide beachfront, the suites offer a 'home-away-from-home', especially for long-staying guests. Can accommodate up to 4 adults and 2 children or 2 adults and 4 children.

Water Villas:
Out on the water, set along sun-bleached wooden pontoons, are 18 Water Villas. With private sundecks and steps that lead down into the water, each Water Villa offers guests direct access to the lagoon. Can accomodate up to 2 adults and 1 child.

Grand Water Villas:
The two Grand Water Villas feature a bedroom, living room and a spacious sundeck overlooking the lagoon and reef. Can accomodate up to 3 adults or 2 adults 1 child.

All rooms feature air-conditioning, safe, ceiling fan, satellite television, DVD and stereo player, IDD telephone, ADSL internet, in-villa bar, coffee and tea making, private veranda, smoke detectors, spacious outdoor shower and freeform bath semi-open to the sky. Guests are looked after by a personal Villa Host.

Kanuhura provides cuisine of unimaginable variety - food for romance, for relaxation, for the sheer pleasure of company.

Thin Rah:
Kanuhura's main restaurant serves buffets for breakfast and dinner, featuring local and international cuisines and an array of exciting delicacies are prepared on open-cooking stations. Themed evenings present you with interesting dining options throughout your stay.

Olive Tree:
Offering a la carte dishes from the Mediterranean, the Olive Tree features an open oven with pizza bar. Other specialities include fresh pasta, salads, grilled seafood and steaks. Open for lunch and dinner around the pool.

Veli Cafe:
Set on a deck above the beach, this is one of the most romantic spots on the island. Aromatic Asian fusion specialities include the freshest catch from the Indian Ocean served for dinner. Open for lunch and dinner.

Kandu
Opening daily for Lunch from 12.00 noon until 3:00 pm. This upscale restaurant offers fresh grilled cuisine concept giving a well-balanced variety of starters, main courses, and desserts on a romantic secluded island. Guests need to go to Veli Cafe and the boat captain will be there to transport you to Jehunuhura Island

Jehunuhura Island:
Jehunuhura is a private island getaway just minutes from Kanuhura. The island offers you a relaxing retreat from the heat of the afternoon sun with luxury picnic hampers for lunch. Chilled flavoured water, fresh fruit and cold towels are available throughout the day. In the evening, the island hosts private parties or romantic hideaways for two.

In-Villa Dining:
In-Villa Dining caters for breakfast, light snacks, romantic dinners and special celebrations in the privacy of guests villas or at various locations on the island.

Handhuvaru Bar:
Sit back, relax and enjoy cool drinks, cocktails and light snacks throughout the day by the poolside or in the shade of the bar. A classic place for sunset cocktails.

Lava Lounge:
Lava Lounge can be used as a private movie cinema with popcorn, for watching big-screen sporting events during major world competitions.

Nashaa Club:
The Maldives first discotheque is hidden away at the far end of the island. Music chart toppers and cocktail mixers!

The dress code when dining at the restaurants is smart casual or island chic. Clothing must be worn over swimwear, and gentlemen are kindly requested to wear long trousers in the evening.

Leisure Facilities:
Kanuhura has a large fresh water swimming pool, beach volley, two floodlit tennis courts, an air-conditioned squash court, table tennis, games room, library, and a lifestyle boutique. A tennis/squash instructor is available as a playing partner or for coaching sessions. You can also enjoy darts, table soccer and billiards in the games room, or just relax with a good read in our library.

Water Sports Centre:
The Water Sports Centre is a member of the internationally recognized Association of Windsurfing Schools in Germany, or VDWS (Verband Deutscher Windsurf und Wassersport Schulen e.v). With the very best in qualified instructors and water sports equipment, guests are assured of a safe and fun time on the various excursions and lessons that are offered. Speedboat rentals, canoes, four-seater banana, water-skis, fun tubes, kneeboards and catamarans are also available.

Sun Dive Centre:
Lhaviyani Atoll is known for its stunning underwater fauna and marine life, offering some of the best dive sites in the world. Over 40 dive sites, including two shipwrecks and a manta point, are accessible within minutes from the resort. The PADI Gold Palm certified dive centre offers newcomers a first-class introduction to diving and unique excursions for experienced divers. Nitrox diving is also available.

Hotel Children Information
Kids Club:
The Kids Club offers imaginative fun for kids (2 to 11) with organised games, videos, web surfing or the library to choose from. A world of natural wonders is just waiting to be discovered - hermit crabs, shells and an abundance of colourful fish. Parents or a baby-sitter should accompany all children under 4 years of age.
Babysitting services by professionally trained nannies are also available on request at a fee. Please note that the minimum age for infants is 4 months. Open daily from 9am to 10pm.

Spa:
A diverse range of treatments and a comprehensive array of facilities, within beautifully designed wooden interiors, provide guests with a sanctuary for relaxation and overall body care. Signature massages like the Manawa and Maldivian Theyo spa boutique, and separate steam bath, dry sauna, cold plunge pools, and Jacuzzis, for ladies and gentlemen. The spa has eight treatment rooms including four doubles. The outdoor spa pavillion is the ideal setting for massages overlooking the lagoon.
