Vivanta by Taj Coral Reef formerly Taj Coral Reef reopened on 15th August 09, following an extensive renovation. Eco Activities
This environmentally conscious resort offers a stylish base from which to explore one of the best diving sites in the Maldives. Each villa has been equipped with snorkeling equipment to encourage exploration of over 200 species of fish. Guests are invited to participate in environmental schemes including the coral cleaning of the house reef and the daily feeding of the local stingrays. Vivanta by Taj Coral Reef has installed an in house water bottling plant, which provides complimentary still and sparkling water to guests.

An exclusive Spa with massage rooms, steam room and retail boutique. The all-natural treatments draw on the ancient health and beauty traditions of Asia, from cultures that celebrate beauty and refinement and honor nature's precious gifts. The exotic aromas of spices and fragrant blooms, and the gentle sound of soothing music, will bathe your sense and lull you into a state of relaxed bliss.

Errata
In order to protect the the natural tropical flora and fauna and the surrounding lagoon the island in conjunction with the Environmental Impact Agency will commence work of building numerous sea walls using boulders around the resort for the following reasons:
� To protect the beaches.
� To protect the dive site and ship wreck from getting submerged in the sand.
� To protect the property from tidal movements & waves.
� Lastly to protect the resort from rising sea levels in years to come.

This work will will carry on approximately till June 2010 and will be carried out from 0900 hrs until 1800 hrs daily and will involve large boulders being placed into the water to build the sea walls from a barge, around 50 metres from the shore line. Please note that this work will take place in the sea and there will be no work that will happen on the island itself
